How to Walk on the Moon by William Potter shortlisted for the SLA Information Book Award

We’re thrilled that How to Walk on the Moon and Other Incredible Ideas About Physics by William Potter and Richard Watson has been shortlisted for the 2025 School Library Association’s Information Book Award — in the Age 8–12 category!

Packed with comic strips and clear explanations, the book explores everything from seesaws to atoms in a way that’s fun, accessible, and scientifically sharp. The judges said:

"If you have a physics question, this book is the place to find the answer. From how to balance on a seesaw to how to split the atom the information in this book is top notch. Using a mixture of comic strip and written explanations it has undeniable appeal to those in upper primary school. A fantastic book that I learned something from."

Thank you to the SLA, the judges, and the IBA Book Club.
